St
Luke’s Church, Huntington

St Luke’s Church began
meeting in Huntington
Primary School
in 1985, and moved into its own building in 1989. It now serves 2,000
homes in Huntington, the Caldy Valley Estate and also Great Boughton as
far as Becketts Lane.
You are warmly invited
to our services and activities, where you can be sure of a welcome! We
try to make our services easy to follow so people can quickly feel at home
and part of the worship.
Our mission statement
reminds us that our aim as a church is to know Jesus better and to make
him known.
Sunday Services
Our main service is at
10.30, and is relaxed and ‘user-friendly’. There is a crèche room for
babies and toddlers, and groups for older children as well, so you can
come as a family. There’s always coffee, tea, squash and biscuits
afterwards, too!
At 6.30 we have a
quieter, more reflective service, though the kettle still goes on
afterwards.
Other activities
Every Wednesday at
12.00 we have Lunch @ St Luke’s. Everyone is welcome, and we
usually have soup and rolls, home-made cake and tea or coffee, often
followed by the chance to watch a video afterwards, too – and all in a
relaxed and friendly atmosphere
For those who want to
dig a bit deeper into the Christian faith there is a study group
which meets on Wednesday evenings at 7.30.
On the first Wednesday
in the month we have a Communion service at 10.00, followed by
Wednesday Fellowship and finishing with lunch together.
The second Tuesday of
the month sees Busy Bees with Artjam. This is for children
under 11, and meets at 3.30. We have singing, stories, crafts and snacks
for an hour after school.
Details of current
activities and events are displayed by the church door each week, or you
are welcome to contact us for more information.
Our building
We
have car parking space (with two bays for blue badge holders)
and level access to the building. The toilet facilities include provision
for people with disabilities and for nappy changing. There is a loop
system for users of hearing aids, and large print editions of our service
books are available.
We are happy to make
the building available to groups looking for a meeting place in the area.
Please contact us for information.
Weddings, Banns,
Baptisms, Confirmation etc.
St Luke’s is licensed
for weddings, and of course baptisms can be arranged, too. Please contact
