Community Wardens
Chester's Community Safety Wardens are a Chester City
Council Service created to tackle anti-social behaviour and improve your
environment.
The Community Safety Wardens provide a highly visible
patrolling presence throughout the Chester District and by acting as the
eyes and ears of the community will enhance safety and deter criminal
activity.
The Community Safety Wardens are not Police Officers but do
complement the work of other agencies and are supported by all lead
agencies throughout Chester. The Wardens are able to deal with local
concerns like littering and anti social behaviour and when appropriate are
able to use their enforcement powers by issuing fixed penalty notices to
offenders.
Community Safety Wardens are not just about crime and
anti-social behaviour, you can approach the Wardens about anything that
affects your quality of life.
The Wardens offer a friendly face to talk to about any
concerns you may have. Sometimes members of the community, for
different reasons find it difficult to approach the Local Council or
Police. Every community has people that find it difficult to speak
up for themselves and whose life may become miserable because of that.
The Wardens are happy to speak to the authorities on your behalf.
Remember! Community Safety Wardens are there to work with
you and represent your concerns. Speak to your Warden, they will
endeavour to get things moving with whoever is responsible to improve
things.
