Huntington Community Primary School was built in the 1950’s and extended in the early
1960’s. The school is of a traditional closed classroom design with
a large hall. The buildings are in good condition. The school
is set in its own extensive and secure grounds consisting of a large field
which is used for athletics, rounders, cricket and football. It also
features a newly designed playground area which not only has
5-a-side and netball pitches but also boasts its own garden, play and
quiet areas and woodland copse.
We are a Community Primary school for children aged 3-11 which includes a
26 place mornings only nursery class. Full time children are at
present accommodated in seven chronologically grouped classes.
Huntington School is a feeder school to two High Schools in close
proximity to the parish.
The Bishops’ Blue Coat Church of England High School was
created in 1984, and has grown considerably since then. It welcomes 180
pupils in each year group, and with a sixth form of 150 has a total of
over 1,000 pupils and students and more than 100 staff. It has both a
strong academic record and a caring atmosphere.
It is set in an attractive campus which has seen extensive
building work in recent years, and has large playing fields and excellent
sports facilities. It is also a specialist science college.
You are very welcome to visit the school’s website for more
information and the latest news, and of course to contact the school if
you wish to do so.
