We want you to tell us about your
memories of the village from years gone by. Do you know the names of
residents from yesteryear. Did your parents or grandparents live in
Huntington?
Please
get in touch.
This is exactly what Gordon Rhead has
done, read his story by

Gordon has also kindly annotated an
aerial photograph of the village to show how it looked in the 1940's.

Nigel Griffiths left Huntington in
1964 and now lives in Brussels. His mother Joan, who still lives in
Huntington, gave Nigel an essay written by Mrs F. Roberts who lived in
Keristal Avenue. It traces the development of the village back to 1926 and
ends in the early 1990's. Nigel has kindly provided a copy of the essay
for the website. You can read it by

Have you ever wondered how much a new
bungalow or semi detached house on the newly developed Butter Bache Estate
would have set you back?
find out, you may be quite surprised.
Thanks also to Margaret Mills, now
living in Norwich', who contacted us to say:
'I lived in Huntington from 1951 to
1959, in Butterbache Rd. It was a lovely village to grow up in. We played
down by the river (no health and safety in those days, ) made dens in the
fields and fished in the brook. Every year, we had the 'rose
queen'festival. Village life revolved very much round the , the mission,
the wooden church which preceded the present one. I was fascinated to read
your website and how much is going on there today, how the world has
changed.
The shops - Jopes groceries, Deva dairies and the post office was always
there.
Lovely to read about it all, makes me want to come back and visit after
all these years!'
